After visiting the 2015 European meeting in Bleckede, I bought my GT through Olaf Moldzen in late summer 2015. After a 2-year “construction phase”, the GT has been back on the road since August 2017 and is “experiencing” Europe.
...that's! driving 😉 timeless automotive design icon with the greatest sympathy factor. Lots of great memories with a friend's red GT in the early 1980s. In the relatively short “active” time we met great people all over the world through the GT... priceless!
Important international representation of the European Opel GT scene to communicate and promote a unique community of car enthusiasts.
To continue to represent the interests of members in the classic car scene, to the public and to the Opel brand in such a positive way. However, I see it as a great challenge to get future generations excited about this unique cultural asset and to get them involved so that our hobby lasts for a long time.
I discovered the GT in 1984. I joined the Dutch club in 1985 and have been driving the GT since 1986. Bought the first GT/J in 1988 and from 1998 on the road in the specially imported US GT. GT screwing and driving never gets boring!
I discovered the design of the GT in the 80s and it is still fascinating today - simply timeless. It is a story that we can still discover and add to today.
An international organization to represent interests, build contacts and revitalize the classic Opel GT.
Continue to unite and represent the (European) GT owners and clubs. To bring the GT further under the eyes of the general public. Continuing the work of our predecessors in the umbrella organization and handing it over to our successors in the future. Because we can only move forward together.
I've enjoyed sitting in my own GT since 2009, and in 2012 I was at the European meeting in Sevenum (NL), where I first came into contact with the Swiss club.
As a child, I admired my neighbor's GT and imagined that one day I would own an Opel GT myself. In 1998 I had already test driven a good colleague's car, but postponed the purchase when a new generation arrived. By chance, in 2009, I was talking to a garage owner who was retiring and wanted to give his GT into new hands.
Promoting the vehicles that have now become cultural assets at European level and maintaining the good network of Opel GT drivers.
Together with our colleagues in the federation, we will shape the next few years for the benefit of all members and actively support the exchange between clubs and supporting members for the future of GTs on European roads.
First European meeting in 2011, drove as a co-driver since 2012 and drove a GT for the first time at the age of 17 (2015).
My interest in the GT was sparked by the fact that I grew up with the car as a teenager. Since then I have been able to experience many beautiful moments and meet many nice people and the fascination for the GT and the scene has remained to this day.
Representing the interests of the GT clubs and supporting members in order to create an active scene together and to represent the GT outside the scene.
Strengthen the community of European GT clubs, promote the European idea and try to attract new, including young, members to the federation and the clubs.
Since early childhood, I have been driving with my father in the Opel GT. In 2018 the decision was made and we bought our own Opel GT, which was restored. Since 2020 I have also been driving my own Opel GT.
The unique shape and the driving pleasure that cannot be described. You have to experience something like that yourself. But also the many memories that are associated with it.
A large community and central contact for GT drivers from Europe. It is important for maintaining contacts outside of Germany and strengthening the community.
Due to the ever-increasing number of members, the association through the federation is very important. The aim is to also involve the younger GT drivers and help shape the future. Due to the diverse team from 3 countries and the wide age range, it is important that as many opinions and interests as possible are reflected and that the focus is also on the younger GT drivers in order to shape the future of the scene together.
